Josh aka The Bug

I've blogged about Kolton's football and diabetes and nothing about Josh! Josh is our 4 year old who is the sweetest kid ever! He acts just like Robert and will probably grow up playing the drums just like dad. He goes to Mother's Day Out at our church twice a week, loves to play the Wii, Nick Jr., and be outside. The boy loves soccer and can't wait to make his debut next year. For now he has to settle for soccer tots.

Sonogram

Today I had my second sonogram, this time for the 1st trimester down's screening. I'll have my results back in 2 weeks, not that I'm worried. I did get more sono pictures and baby #3 was very active...probably another boy! I did realize that if I go into labor on my own, which I've never done, it'll be a long drive to Presby Dallas. Is traffic on 75 ever good?!

Kolton's home from school sick today. Headache, tired...but he is still managing to play the Wii. I haven't felt like doing much today either. I work from home so when I don't feel like working, it is very hard to make myself keep going. I got a laptop a few weeks ago so at least now I can work from the couch when I want to.

Football Game

Kolton is playing Upwards Flag Football and is the Quarterback! Their first game was yesterday morning and he threw his first touchdown pass of his career. All kids were introduced at the beginning of the game followed by the "Monday Night Football" song....it was very cute. Kolton got the star for best offense and had a great time.

Diabetes Education

As the mom of a kid with type 1 diabetes, I get very tired of people thinking it is the same as type 2 diabetes. Well, let me tell you, it's not! Kolton produces no insulin at all so his "life support" is 4 insulin injections everyday. One before each meal and another at bedtime. His diabetes cannot be cured with a change in diet or increase of exercise like type 2, no he's not overweight and no he won't outgrow it!! Life with a diabetic keeps me on my toes.

May-June of 2007 Kolton went to Camp Sweeny, a camp for kids with type 1 located near Gainsville, Texas. His best bud from the camp, Luke, lives in Austin and we got to go visit them later the same summer. The pictures I posted are Kolton in front of the cleanest cabin award his cabin earned, and a picture of me, Kolton, Luke and his mom Stacy the day we picked the kids up. Stacy has been so wonderful to me and never gets tired of my phone calls and questions!

1st Blog

After keeping up with my friend Helen through her blog, I decided to give it a try. I don't think I'll be as up to date and organized as she is but I will try!
