Kolton did very well on the TAKS reading test. I don't have the exact score yet but I know he got a commended performance which means he's 90% or above....whoo hoo!! I'll find out tomorrow the testing details. I am so proud of him!
Last night was diabetes night at the Stars hockey game so Kolton and I went. He was able to attend a meet and greet with #17 Toby Petersen who also has type 1 diabetes. We had fun at the game even though the Stars lost 5 - 2. Note to self....there is no point in leaving the game early if you ride the train!! We took a train to Pearl, another to Mockingbird and then finally the one we really needed to get all the way home which had people on it that stayed for the whole game.
The other big news for Kolton is he decided he wants an insulin pump...yay!! It'll be so much easier on all of us! We go to a pump class Tuesday and then back for 2 more classes after he actually gets his own pump. Wish us luck as we learn something new!!

Kiddo Update
It's Spring Break and Kolton is sick. Go figure. He's been running fever for a few days and a little cough but nothing major. I'm sure if I took him to the doc I would pay $10 to be told "it's just viral"....
Emma is doing well. After consulting with expert moms Hannah and Cindy I decided Emma should only get soilds twice a day and skip solids at lunch so we've got the food schedule figured out now. So far she loves all the foods and sucks them right off the spoon. It's so funny!!
Josh has started speech therapy again going on Mondays for 30 min to a private speech pathologist. The goal is to see major improvement in his conversational speech by the time he starts school in Aug. The speech pathologist said the issues are mild which is good news but poor guy....so many ear infections really effected his hearing early on and it's rearing it's ugly head now.
Paul made it back to California today. He talked to Robert when he got to San Diego but Robert's thinking he doesn't have great cell phone coverage where he is now so not sure when we'll hear from him again. I kinda miss having his stuff all over Emma's room.
Robert's band is playing in Royce City again this Friday night and they finished recording a demo and it sounds awesome...of course.
If you are looking for me to post pictures on here...sorry! I'm putting them all on dropshots so you'll have to go there to look!

Celebrate the Arts
Kolton's artwork was selected again this year to be displayed at Wylie High School during Celebrate the Arts weekend. His artwork was displayed when he was in 1st grade too. The bummer part is that it's the weekend of the scrapbooking retreat. I guess Robert will just have to take a picture of the artwork on display!!
Emma is growing like a weed and loving her stage 1 foods. She's now eating just 3 meals a day and sometimes a bottle before bed and still sleeping thru the night :)
Paul is enjoying his time home but he's so bored! He's been taking the trash out, picking up after himself, doing his laundry and even folding ours. I wonder if the Marine Corps would let me keep him home for a while longer?!! Saturday his sister is hosting a reception for him at church and Saturday night we're going to a hockey game with people I work with...that'll keep him busy that day. He flies back to California Tuesday morning EARLY. I'm pretty sure I won't be the one taking him to the airport..... Another thing he did for us that makes up for some of the gray hairs he gave me in the past....we added him to our cell phone plan and now get a 15% military discount. I wonder what other bills I can add him to?!!
Next week is springbreak and I don't know what I'm going to do with all 3 kids home all day, everyday next week! The week after that we are taking Kolton to a hockey game for JDRF night where the kids can meet the hockey play with type 1. Should be fun.

MCRD, San Diego
Ok, it's been forever since I blogged and I'm not going to even try to catch up. Let's just say I'm addicted to facebook.
Wednesday night Robert, Kolton and I flew to San Diego to attend Paul's graduation from boot camp. By the time our flight landed, we got our bags, rental car and to the hotel and to bed it was around 3 am Dallas time...yawn! Thursday morning we woke up at 7 because we felt like it was 9..nice. We attended the family day activities in the morning and then had lunch with Paul, Ami and Tony and then spent the rest of the day with Paul on base. Thursday night we took Kolton to eat fresh seafood....his favorite.
Friday graduation started at 10 and was over by 11:30. We went to the mall to get Paul clothes that fit...the clothes he wore to boot camp didn't fit anymore. After the mall we went to Coronado Island/Beach and Kolton, Ami and I looked for seashells...boy was it cold! After that we took Paul to eat Mexican food.
Saturday Robert, Kolton, Paul and I went to the San Diego Zoo and spent several hours there before flying out Saturday late afternoon. We were routed thru Phoenix and on the flight from Phoenix to Dallas, Paul got moved up to First Class...stinker didn't even tell us bye as he moved up. I doubt he knew where he was going. I'm sure the flight attendant said "come with me" and he was following orders.
Today Paul got dressed in his blues and went to church were he was recognized and church members prayed over him. Next Saturday Ami is hosting a welcome home/goodbye/you survived boot camp reception for him at the church.
Graduation was tight. That's all I can say. There is no way to describe it.
