This One's for You Helen
Christmas morning Kolton got us up a little before 8:00. We went in to wake Josh up and he told Robert he wanted to sleep. That's my boy! When I went in there he said he was "just kiddin" but from the picture you can see he was half-asleep. Of course Emma slept through her first Christmas morning. The boys liked everything Santa brought and we ate a big breakfast together and then of course Kolton wanted to go to Nanny's to wait for my sister and her kids to get there. The best gift I got was a 3 hour nap I got on Christmas day! I'm pretty sure I fell into a coma.
Christmas evening when my sister got to town we went to my parents house and had round 2 of present opening. Friday we went shopping at the Galleria and Firewheel. Saturday it was shopping at Collin Creek Mall. Sunday was church and another long nap for me and then Sunday night we all went out to eat at Texas Land and Cattle. My sister and her crew left Monday morning and it was so great to chill with the whole family. She only comes down once a year (except this year she made it down 3 times because of Emma). My dad loves having all the grand-kids at his house even if it's only for a few days. Guess I should mention she lives in Topeka, KS which is a 8 hour drive and explains why the whole family comes once a year. 8 hours with 3 kids is a loooooong drive.
Tomorrow we leave for Gladewater and Christmas #3. We get to hang out with Robert's family until Sunday. Saturday I'm driving to Monroe to meet a cousin of mine for more shopping. I've done more shopping in the past week then the whole year combined!! It's a 2 hour drive for me and a 2 hour drive for her from Natchez, MS and we haven't seen each other since last Jan. so it should be a fun day. I should also mention this 2 hour drive is no big deal to her as it is the closest mall there is to Natchez. Can you imagine?!!
I'll add more photos later. For some reason I'm having issues uploading photos tonight. Maybe because I'm too tired!!
O, and I moved Emma to her crib and she woke up several times the first night but was fine last night. She's been sleeping in her bassinet in her room for about a month but it was time to move to the crib. She has also found her fingers. She now likes to suck on the 2 middle fingers of her right hand and plays with her hair with the left....so cute!!!

Time for an Update
Cindy said she's tired of seeing "Poor Bulee" and that it was time for an update so here goes.....
I can't remember what has happened since I last blogged.
Just kidding.
Sorta of.
So mom and dad put their dog down the Tuesday after my last blog. I was suppose to go with my mom but couldn't (darn the luck). She called me crying when she left the vet's office and Bu is now in doggie heaven. Kolton got in the car that night and asked "so is Bulee dead yet?". He seemed fine when I told him yes but later that night he cried for an hour! He seems fine now and we didn't say anything to Josh. He hasn't asked about the dog so why bring it up?!
I spent quite a bit of time at the office last week because my boss was welcoming her new grandson. Her daughter in law was induced Monday at 4:30 am and had a 9 lb 4 oz, 22 inches long boy at 12:30 am the next day!!! And this wasn't even her first baby. Poor girl.
Friday night was Robert's work party at the Dallas Cowboys Golf Club. It was an ok time. We decided last year was better but we still had fun. Would have had more fun at the after party but we had to get back to the kids. Saturday night was my work party and Robert couldn't go because of the church Christmas musical. My work party is always fun and this year was no exception. Some employees drank a bit too much and gave "speeches"....I on the other hand had to drive myself home and made no speech!! My boss and I decided the next time we need someone to spill their guts we'll serve alcohol!!!!
I have pictures of Emma to upload if I'll ever take the time to download them to my computer!!!
I'm TIRED tonight and COLD. I hate cold weather and wonder how I survived so many Kansas winters growing up. My sister is insane for still living there.

Poor Bulee
My mom and dad are having to put their beagle to sleep tomorrow. He's 10 years old in May and the vet is pretty sure he has cancer. Instead of spending a bunch of money to find out what kind of cancer my parents have decided to go ahead and put him down. Isn't that sad? The dog is a pain but how can you not love him?! He barks a lot, tries to grab food off the table, barks a lot, sleeps with Kolton when he is there, barks a lot, sheds a lot, barks a lot...you get the idea. He's been a great dog but yet not your typical beagle. He doesn't chase anything and the few times he's been locked outside he runs around to the front door and barks to come in! My mom can't bear to go back out to the vet and my dad doesn't really want to either but he promised my sister that one of them would be there so he'll go after work tomorrow. Sigh. I can't believe this is the only picture of Bulee I can find....
On to a more cheery subject.
Over the weekend I had to shop for 2 Christmas parties. Robert's is semi-formal so I had to go find a dress for that. It wasn't as bad of a beating as I thought it would be.
Saturday we took Kolton to the Wylie football game at Texas Stadium again and Wylie won. Next game is in Waco and if they win that they go on to Houston. I wish I could go to the game but it is Saturday at 7:00 and my work party is Saturday at 7:00. We have pictures from the game on our new camera that Robert left at the youth Christmas party last night!
Tomorrow PB leaves for the bootcamp. Robert dropped him off at the recruiting station this afternoon and if all goes as planned he'll be in San Diego tomorrow. Our neighbor down the street is the top enlisted guy at MEPS so he's suppose to call Robert in the morning and will even take a picture of PB being sworn in. Robert and I plan on flying out to his graduation from bootcamp in March. Pray the boy makes it to graduation! (Here is Paul at his junior prom the year we lived with us. He looks so young!)

Emma Kate's Stats
Tomorrow Emma turns 2 months old and today I took her for her 2 month well check. She got 3 shots and 1 oral vaccine. Wish they were all oral...she loved that one and hated the shots. She's had tylenol twice today and seems to be ok. Here are her stats:
Weight: 9 lbs 15 oz--27th percentile
Height: 21 3/4"--23th percentile
Head: 37.2 cm--10th percentile
After her appointment we met up with my mom so she could take Emma to her house while I went to the office to start the month-end marathon at work. I stayed until after 5, picked the boys up and wanted to take them to the holiday train in Wylie. On the way there I talked to my friend Carrie who said the wait was 1 1/2 hours...ugh. We came home instead.
Today Kolton's sugars have been in the 300's all day. I'm hoping he's going through a growing stage and not about to get sick! Time will tell.

Back to Work
It's Monday mid-morning and month end for me at work and I haven't started working yet! I'll get to it eventually and then be mad at myself for having to work late. O well, at least I'm at home today.
Saturday we took Kolton to Texas Stadium to watch the Wylie Pirates in round 3 of the high school football play-offs and they won! It wasn't too cold inside the stadium. I was fine in my coat and didn't even need gloves until almost the end of the game. The next game is Saturday at noon and we may go watch that one too.
We got the tree up and decorated along with the house. I went to Lowe's and got some new stuff for the mantel and now can't decided if I like it. Now if I can just get the boxes that the decorations were in back up into the attic before Christmas is over we'll be in good shape.
Yesterday was church, lunch and Robert went to the Stars hockey game while Josh and I decorated. Tomorrow Josh goes back to school, Emma has her 2-month well check appointment that includes her first set of shots...fun, I have to be at my office and then I have meeting at church since I'm on the Parents Day Out board. May sound important but I have no idea what we actually do. I missed the first meeting due to Emma's arrival.
In the next 3 weeks I have shopping to finish and clothes shopping to do for Christmas parties. Robert's work party is at the Cowboys Country Club and the invite says "semi-formal"...great. My work party is the next night and it isn't "semi-formal" so I have to get 2 outfits one of which I'll probably never wear again!

Kids say the Darnest Things
Josh told me this morning that his "whole body" was excited to build our Christmas tree. Robert got everything down from the attic this morning and all the boxes are still in the living room! We got the tree up and decorated...the rest can wait.
I NEVER shop the day after Thanksgiving. Never have and probably never will. Any time we are in Gladewater for Thanksgiving my sister-in-laws leave me in bed asleep and go shopping. Well guess who went to Wal-Mart this morning at 7:30...ROBERT. Can you believe that? I made a list and off he went. He got a few things on the list and I guess didn't mind the crowds....wonder what Starbucks put in his coffee?!
The other cute thing Josh said today was when we got out Kolton's huge nut-cracker. Josh calls it a cracker-nut. He makes me laugh everyday.
Tonight Robert, Josh and I went to pick out tables for our living room...exciting huh? It's my Christmas present to myself. I picked out end-tables and the ottoman that matches our couch and loveseat. I don't need a coffee table for 2 reasons...#1 we'll just prop our feet on it and #2 it's a hazardous object that could cause one of the kids to get stitches....been there done that several times.
Tomorrow we are taking Kolton to Texas Stadium to watch Wylie in the play-offs. Kolton and I have never been to Texas Stadium so it should be fun. (I've never even been to a Wylie football game for that matter! Remember I grew up in KS where no one cared about HS football.)
Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend!

Party Time
Josh pitched a tent this morning and said he was having a party and I was invited. As I started to crawl into his tent he told me I wasn't invited anymore because I was too big. No too old, too big. Lovely.
Emma slept all night last night! Robert feed her and put her down at 11:30ish and she slept until 8:00 this morning!!! Bet she doesn't do that tonight. She has started smiling and trying to coo and she will be sucking her thumb as soon as she figures out how to get it into her mouth. For now her fist does the job sometimes. She goes for her 2 month check-up next week and first set of shots. 2 months old already!! Before you know we'll be fighting over the amount of make-up she has on!!
Mason is here having a sleep over with Kolton. I'm sure tomorrow they will play football ALL DAY LONG. Mason is a year older than Kolton and they have been friends since they were 2 & 3 years old I think...either that or Kolton was 3 and Mason 4. Mason has been to every one of Kolton's birthday parties and I love looking back at the pictures of the two of them together when they were little.
I'm so glad tomorrow is Wednesday! Like everyone else I'm ready for 4 days off with my family. I will eat, sleep, watch football, eat, sleep, watch football, eat, sleep....you get the idea!

A New Post!!
I'm with Cindy, I've been on facebook more and more and on my blog less and less!
Last week was kinda uneventful. Monday I took Josh to the doctor for an earache but luckily it wasn't an ear infection. I weighed Emma while we were there and she weighs 9 lbs 4.5 oz!!!! I'd post a picture but our camera broke...what timing.
Thursday ECI came out to evaluate Emma's neck because she favors one side over the other. Robert thought I was crazy but turns out I'm not. She has left torticollis...her neck muscle on the left side of her neck is tighter than the right side so her head tilts. I have exercises to do with her and a physical therapist will come out twice a month.
Friday night we did nothing. Saturday I took the boys to see the movie Bolt. After sitting in the theater for 10 minutes and watching 15 minutes of previews, Josh had to go potty as soon as the movie started!!! It was was a cute movie and worth taking your kiddos to. Saturday evening Robert's parents were in town and came over to see us and we just hung out and did nothing. Sunday was church, lunch, nap, and back to church.
Today I took the kids over to meet Robert for lunch and introduce Emma to all the guys he works with....I guess they aren't all guys...there are 3 or 4 women whom I feel very sorry for. If you knew 'the guys' you'd feel sorry for the girls too!! Tonight I did a little Christmas shopping at Wal-Mart (your favorite Melissa!) and the commercial for Wal-Mart that says they have more lanes open than ever...LIE....they don't. But the place wasn't busy and I was able to mark items off the Christmas shopping list.
For Thanksgiving we are staying in town and having dinner at my parents house Thursday night. Wednesday night we might take the kids to see another movie and Saturday we may go see the Wylie Pirates play at Texas Stadium. What we won't be doing is shopping on Friday!!!

Friday, Saturday, Sunday
I'm so not creative at a title for my postings.....
Friday Kolton's endocrinologist called with his test results. His thyroid functions are normal right now but his antibodies were positive which means his immune system is attacking his thyroid gland and he will need thyroid medication "some day". Once a person has 1 auto-immune disease (type 1 diabetes) they can get others. First his pancreas, now his thyroid, what next?! Hopefully nothing. People have responded to this news with "no big deal...thyroid is easy to manage" but when your kid is only 9 and is taking 4 shots a day for the rest of his life, thyroid medication is a big deal. It's another thing he'll take forever....I did mention he's only 9 right?!!! I love my friend Stacy in KY. Her son is type 1 also and her reaction to the news was "that's a bummer". EXACTLY!!!
Friday night Robert and I took Josh, Emma, (Kolton didn't want to go) and BBQ to Hannah and Brian's to hang out and play the Wii. I love watching people play the Wii....it's so funny!! Hannah and Brian's kiddos Jacob and Jenna were there too of course. Jacob is so sweet! He brought me books to read to him and his morning at church when he saw me he said "Joshie's"....too cute! You know you are getting old though when your Friday night out ends at 10:00!!
Saturday I went to IHOP for breakfast with the ladies from church and there were a bunch of us!! Poor server. Breakfast was good and all us moms enjoyed being away from our kids!!
Saturday night Robert and I had date night. We went to a local Italian place in Rockwall and then to a coffee shop in Mesquite. (Yes Helen and Gina D. I said Mesquite). A guy who used to go to our church is in a christian band and they were playing in Mesquite and we went to listen. They were good! Robert is back with a christian band and they will be better though! We had a late night...didn't pick Josh and Emma up until 11:00!! Kolton stayed at Nanny's.
Today was church, the Turkey bowl (football) and now Emma and I are going to Jared's to pick my rings up. Of course my fingers gained weight during the pregnancy and I'm not sure they plan on going backwards in size so I had my rings sized up...tired of not being able to wear 'em!!

Cindy
I really have nothing to blog about so I'll blog about my best friend Cindy for those of you who read this and don't know her. She got herself a new car yesterday and I'm SO excited for her. You don't know how many times I've heard her say "my car's in the shop ... again" over the last several years. Her american-made car was junk so she bought a Honda...so proud of her. Of course her purchase makes me want a mini-van again....or maybe not. I get the car bug often as does my dad...it's in the genes.
Now on to the story of Ethan. Cindy has one ADORABLE daughter named Justine whom they adopted through CPS. Cindy and her husband have been waiting for what feels like forever for a baby boy to come along to adopt. They finally have their baby boy to adopt. Ethan was born 16 hours after Emma which made his birthday Kolton's birthday...October 4! Who knew the whole time I was pregnant with Emma that Ethan was cooking too?! Cindy and I said God had it planned for us to have babies on the same weekend and everyone at church is telling us that too!! Cindy got to name her baby too! When he arrived at her house his name was sadly "baby boy". So now we have Josh and Justine, Emma and Ethan who was born on Kolton's birthday!!! Of course with us having our babies 16 hours apart we lost our help. Normally I'd be keeping her baby and she'd be helping me with Emma but not anymore! We each have our hands full! Ethan and Emma are just another example of God's perfect timing.

Sunday and Forgetful
Yesterday was a big Sunday for the Watson's. Emma made her debut at church as did our new pastor, Lash. Emma was a hit and Lash didn't do too bad either.
Now to the forgetful part....while the boys were at AWANA Emma and I went to the store to pick up a few things. I decided tacos would be a quick, easy dinner since Robert would be at the church late and I'd have all 3 kiddos. I was halfway through cooking when I realized I had forgotten the TACO SEASONING. O well...the boys still ate the tacos and said they were great.
Forgetful #2....I stayed up last night and fed Emma at 11:00 ish while Robert went to bed and he took the 4 am feeding and I'd get up at 7 to get Kolton ready for school. During that 4 am feeding I shot up out of bed and remembered I had forgotten to give Kolton his NIGHT TIME INSULIN!!!! This insulin is his long acting that he gets when he goes to bed but not last night! He got it at 4 this morning and I had to email the diabetes educators so they could tell me what to do with tonight's shot.
I know we have all eaten lunch in the car on the go...but you know you are a mom when lunch to go is a PB&J sandwich! And apparently I haven't adjusted to being out-numbered yet since I didn't give my DIABETIC his INSULIN!!!!
Kolton and I will be going to church camp this summer. Not sure yet where I'll be sleeping. I was told the camp has hotel/motel like accomedations. As long as it's 5-star I'm in. (Just kidding).

My Sistas
I just finished talking to my friend Melissa on facebook IM. Did you know you could IM on facebook?! I didn't know this until Cindy told me!!! Anyway, can I just say that I have the best girlfriends ever?!!! I have one "real" sister who lives in Kansas and I have a ton of "sistas" here.
Robert and I are blessed to have such a wonderful church family. Many of the people we go to church with have become like extended family to us and so that's why I say I have a ton of "sistas". I stole that term from Cindy by the way...that's what she and her "real" sister call each other. And Cari, just because you moved doesn't mean you aren't a sista anymore...you still are!!

Happy Birthday.....
Happy Birthday to my brother-in-law Michael and his wife Robin. Mike's birthday is today and Robin tomorrow. Mike is Robert's baby brother and I give him a hard time about getting old but I'm right on his heels...he's only 2 months older than me. Robin's still the baby of the Watson family but not by much! Honestly, Robert's the only old one...the rest of us are still young pups in our 30's.
Everyone here is doing well. Emma is eating and sleeping and is still such a great baby! Josh got his flu shot yesterday and was a big boy and didn't cry. Kolton had his blood drawn today to check his thyroid that I blogged about earlier so pray those test results are normal. I've been back to the chiropractor a few more times and am getting my eyes checked later today....I want a new pair or RX sunglasses...mine are so not cool and so old........
Last night I got to go hang out with a couple of my girlfriends, one of which hadn't seen Emma yet and it was so much fun having some girl time. When I told Kolton we ate pizza and then sat around and talked his reply was "that's it?"....yes that's it! Pizza, friends, and laughter...what more do you need?!!
Kolton told me he wants to go to church pre-teen camp this summer :) He won't go without me and I won't let him go without me (because of the diabetes). Camp isn't until July and right now there isn't room for another adult to go so we are going to wait and see when it gets closer to camp if there is room for the 2 of us since we are a package deal :) I hope we end up going. I know Kolton and I would both have a great time. Some kids are very independent diabetics but he's not there yet and I don't mind. He's only little once and I only get to take care of him for so long before he thinks I'm not cool anymore!

Weekend Update
The Watson gang hasn't been up to a whole lot over the last couple days. Kolton and Josh both had their last soccer games yesterday and Josh had his end of season party. We went trick or treating for a little while Friday night but Josh and my nephew Alex got tired pretty quick so we only stayed out for about an hour (if even that long). Friday I took advantage of my sister and dad being home and went to the chiropractor, voted and went by my office. Saturday I treated myself to a 1 hour massage and today I treated myself to a pedicure that I had a gift certificate for (thanks Nancy). The chiropractor I found is awesome and the office includes a massage therapist, facials, body wraps, personal trainer.....I didn't want to leave the place! The best part...the office is only 10 min from my house (Naaman School Rd between Brand and 78 for those of you who would like to go too :) )
Last night Robert and I went to Macy's all by ourselves and then to eat at On the Border. We hadn't planned on having a date night but it ended up that way!! Of course I bought Emma 2 outfits at Macy's and I could have bought so many more!!
Today Robert is the only one who made it to church. All I managed to do before he got home from church was give Josh and Emma a bath and keep the laundry going. I didn't even get a shower until 1:30!!!!
Next up is AWANA for the boys and I have to get a be-lated birthday card in the mail for Robert's niece who had a birthday Friday. I didn't forget the birthday...just didn't manage to get a card in the mail on time.

Kolton's Endo Appt
Everyone is back to being well at the Watson house!! And it wasn't the flu. The doctor Robert saw at CareNow said Dallas has seen no cases of the flu so it was just another virus. Yipee. It's a very good thing we are all over it. My sister and her son fly in tomorrow for the weekend and I'm sure she doesn't want to take anything extra back to Kansas!
Kolton had his regular 3 month check up yesterday with his endocrinologist. His A1C came down a whole point to 6.9% so rather than being on the high end of normal for a type 1 he is almost in the "normal" person range! I figured with him being back in school and eating on a more regular schedule that his number would come down from what it was over the summer. His thyroid is slightly enlarged so he has to have some blood work drawn for that and he gets to check his lipids already! I did learn he doesn't have to have his eyes checked every year and in a few more years we start watching his kidney functions. Did God make our bodies complex or what?!! The thyroid can be related to the diabetes so I'm no alarmed by that. At this point when it comes to Kolton, I'm not sure what would alarm me!!
My boss is sick and it's month end for us at work so I have a lot to do today to help her out....better get to it.

Robert's Turn...
....yep to be sick! He's feeling much better today but yesterday was ROUGH. He's back from what he calls his "near death experience"!! He was throwing up (gross I know) all day yesterday. I've never seen him so sick...not even the day after his bachelor party! I finally decided at 5:00 yesterday that he needed to go either to the ER or Carenow...I opted for Carenow. After checking in online and being at the clinic for 1 1/2 hours he left feeling better. He got a shot of phenergan and was able to finally sleep last night. I, on the other hand, didn't get much sleep unless 4 straight hours count which I guess it does with a 3 week old. Emma and I slept in the living room and I'm sure she can sense the house "ora" (lol) is all messed up. I hope tomorrow finds the house back to normal.
Today Kolton sees his endocrinologist for his usual 3 month diabetes check up. If I can get Emma to take a nap, I can nap before picking Kolton up at 1:30, Josh at 2, then dropping Josh and Emma off with my mom, then to Children's in Plano by 3:05 for the appointment, then by my office to drop off and pick up work, then back to get Josh and Emma and finally back home!! And I did mention I didn't get much sleep last night right?!!

My Turn....
...to be sick! Robert was nice and let me sleep all night Friday and took both Emma feedings. He then got up and got Josh to his 8:30 soccer game and played golf Saturday afternoon. By the time he got home though I was running fever, had a headache and my body hurt! I talked to the OB on call since I was told to call if I started running fever over 100.4...she decided it was probably "just the flu". Last night before I went to bed I found some Tamiflu we had from last year and it hadn't expired yet!!! I've had 2 doses and slept for basically 19 hours (now I know what it's like to be my dog) and am feeling better. The boys went to my parents house yesterday and Emma went over there this morning to spend the day so hopefully no one else in the house gets the flu.
No one in the family has been sick in what feels like forever until we have a 3 week old!!!!!
And Robert and I have to say happy birthday to our friend Brian....we missed his party today. :{

Kolton Update
Kolton was much better yesterday and went to school. Early this morning Josh woke Robert and I up and we thought he was going to be sick too but he slept in until 9 this morning and was fine!
Last night I got to see Gina (Forrest). She finally made it over to see baby Emma. We had a good visit and I plan on making a trip to Granbury once the Forrest compound is finished being built. I've never been to Granbury so maybe Robert and I will make a weekend of it..who knows.
Some days with a newborn I feel rested and other days not so much. Today is a not so much day. It's only 8:45 and I could go to bed already! Both the boys went to my parents house tonight so Robert and I have peace and quiet (minus the occasional cry from Emma).

Multi-Tasking
Today I took multi-tasking to a whole new level.
Kolton woke Robert and I up around 5:30 this morning with a stomach ache. 1 tums and a couple of sips of diet 7 Up and the throw up began...yea for us. By 9:00 I was calling the "emergency line" at the diabetes clinic which is standard with a type 1 who is throwing up and he had moderate to large ketones which meant he was getting dehydrated and had way too much extra sugar floating around in his body. I was on the phone with the nurse off and on all day giving insulin and re-checking ketones as instructed and trying to get Kolton to drink fluids..yea right. At noon the nurse gave me 2 more hours to get him hydrated and ketones gone before she sent us to the ER and those 2 additional hours is all Kolton needed in order to "turn the corner". I got him under control here and we didn't end up at Children's.
Robert wasn't able to stay home today to help with the kids so between feeding Emma, being nurse to Kolton and keeping Josh from being totally bored, I even got work done! I'm so tired tonight. I couldn't nap with Emma today because I was having to check something on Kolton so often...blood sugar...ketones...give insulin...give fluids...you get the idea!!
Having a child with type 1 diabetes is more challenging on some days than others. And with him we can never walk out the door empty handed. Where he goes, the meter goes, candy for lows, snacks for feeling low but not really low, insulin if we are going to be eating out......But I keep reminding myself it could be so much worse. Type 1 diabetes is nothing compared to some illnesses kids and parents face everyday.
Emma lost her cord today finally too. It was about time! She took her first "real" bath which she badly needed and loved it!
Josh was my helper today too. If Emma cried and I was with Kolton he'd go check on her and stick the paci in her mouth...so sweet!!

Emma Kate's Stats
Emma went back to the doctor today for her 2 week check up. She is doing very well and has gained an ounce per day since her 1 week visit. Last night she let me sleep! Robert fed her at 10:00 and she didn't eat again until 4:30!!! I wonder if she'll do that again tonight?? Anyway, here are her 2 week stats:
Weight: 7 pounds 2 ounces...11th percentile
Length: 20" long....28th percentile
Head: 34.3 cm...7th percentile
After her appointment I took her to my office to meet everyone. I'm officially back at work...yes already...sad isn't it. I decided when I started helping Josh play Spongebob on the Wii that it was time to start working again. I'm still working from home so going back to work isn't that big of a deal really. I still get to sleep in as long as Emma does and nap whenever I want to. It'll be a few more weeks yet before I leave Emma with anyone and be back at my office twice a week.

Eventful Sunday
Our church officially has a new pastor! We voted Lash in this morning and he will start November 9th...whoo hoo! I left Emma with my dad today so I could hear Lash preach at church and be there to vote. It took me FOREVER to get to my parents house this morning thanks to Tour de East Plano!!! ALL the traffic from Wylie/Murphy had to turn right on Los Rios and did I mention it went down to one lane? What a nightmare. I wasn't suppose to turn on my parents street but I did it anyway. I felt like one of those car commericals that says "professional driver on professional course" because of the orange cones...o and I got yelled out by some dude on a bike...whatever....find a sidewalk.
So after church...this is where the real fun begins. I pull into the garage and Josh comes out and opens my door for me..ahh how sweet. Well I was reading an email on my blackberry (thanks Helen) so I didn't notice when Josh locked the doors and so I got out and shut the door and guess who was still in the car...EMMA!!! I always leave my purse, keys, and phone in my car too and my spare key was in my purse that was locked inside the car. So Robert calls 911 and it took them forever to get to our house. Our neighbors had been outside and came over so as I was standing in the garage talking to them and wondering where the cops were, I remembered my valet key inside!!! I changed purses a few weeks ago so the key was still in the old purse!! So as the cop and ambulance pulled up I unlocked the car with the valet key. Go mom! I'm so glad I remembered that key because there were 2 things I was not looking forward to...how the cops were going to break into my Volvo and how much a new window would cost if they had to break it to get Emma out. I stayed calm the whole time because she was asleep and the car was in the garage vs sitting in the sun. Robert had to tell me before I remembered the valet key that my car keys don't belong in the car anymore. Tonight I went out to Albertson's and guess where my keys are...in my car. Guess I'm a slow learner.

Refreshed
I got 7 hours of sleep last night and felt so refreshed today but that's wearing off and I'm tired again! Robert took one of the feedings last night and Josh had a 8:30 soccer game this morning so Robert is TIRED. This morning I even heard him ask Josh if he wanted to skip the soccer game!!!
Robert's parents came to see Emma today for the first time. They had been traveling the East coast since the end of September and came by on their way home (even though we weren't really "on the way"). Emma had to meet her other set of spoiling grandparents!!
Today I got out of the house twice with no kids! The first time was for lunch at Olive Garden with ladies from church and our (possible) new pastor's wife. She is 2 years older than me and she was born on the island of Guam and I lived on the island of Guam...small island..small world! Our dads were obviously both in the Air Force and our time on Guam actually overlapped by a few months. The second outing was to go to the church to meet the (possible) new pastor Lash. He seemed fine. During the question and answer meeting a lot of his answers were typical textbook and his philosophies sound in line with that of former Pastor Mark. I did call Gina and let her know it's not too late for her and Mark to come back since we don't vote on Lash until tomorrow. I know Mark and Gina are in the right place, I just miss them. Robert and I have the privilege of calling them friends and not just a pastor and wife. I think Lash and his wife will both be very good for our church. I'm hoping to go to church tomorrow to hear Lash preach and be there to vote. My dad has asked me no less than 5 times if I'm going so that he can stay home and keep Emma. Of course it all depends on how she does tonight but if I made a noon lunch today surely I can make 11:00 church tomorrow.

Eat, Sleep, Eat, Sleep
That sums up Emma's world right now. She's got herself on a good schedule eating every 3 hours during the day and then takes a 5 hour stretch followed by a 4 hour stretch at night. She loves the sound of running water and getting her hair washed and hates having the diaper changed. Her cord is close to falling off and I can't wait to give her a real bath!!
Robert went back to work this week and I'm surviving solo with the help of several cokes throughout the day!! You know you have a newborn when you wake up from a "nap" at 6:00 in the evening!!
Here's a few more pictures.

Birthday Wishes
Happy Birthday to my sister, Sonya! She's my only sibling and lives in Topeka, Kansas and has an adorable 3 year old son, Alex. She's an attorney with a firm in Topeka and our family is so proud of her. Ok, so the picture is a little cheesy but it's the one off the firm's website....
Emma is still doing well. She kept Robert up for a while last night...not crying...just not wanting to sleep. Let's hope tonight is different. Robert goes back to work tomorrow and as I imagined I'm not ready but he is!! He's got cabin fever. Emma had company yesterday. Robert's best friend Tony and his wife Donnessa brought their 18 month old daughter over yesterday to see Emma again. They live in Forney so we don't get to see them as much as we used to when they lived in Rockwall. Robert and Tony have known each other since they were babies in the church nursery...let's just say they've known each other a looooong time!!
My best friend Cindy got a baby boy last weekend too. (She's adopting through CPS again like Justine.) He was born on Kolton's birthday, the 4th, and the odds of this boy staying with Cindy and being adopted are pretty high. Now we have Josh and Justine, Emma and Ethan, who was born on Kolton's birthday....he has to be a keeper!!! I haven't even seen him yet except for pictures. Hopefully this week I'll feel like driving and I can go see him.
And finally, our church may have found our new pastor. Robert gets to meet him Tuesday, he preaches next Sunday and the church votes the following Sunday so stay tuned for the results!!!! I still miss Mark and Gina though.

Family Update
Emma is now almost 1 week old and is doing great. Still in the eat/sleep only stage which I know won't last much longer! She is adjusting to the Watson house easily and Robert and I are adjusting to being outnumbered. Lucky for us, Kolton is old enough to take care of himself for the most part..minus the diabetes management :)
Kolton is super excited about Emma and will be a huge help. Josh is getting used to having her around. He ignores her most the time but every so often he'll ask where she is or go looking for her to say hi. Today he fed her for the first time and I'll post those pictures once they get downloaded. Pebbles also ignores Emma for the most part too. Sometimes she'll come up to her for a sniff but so far her favorite part of Emma is the boppy pillow that she loves to curl up in. Lucky for her, she doesn't shed...otherwise anything of Emma's would be off limits. Robert has been off this week/working from home and I know I won't want him to go back to work on Monday. I am very thankful he's been home this week but I'll go ahead and wish for one more!!!
Emma already has nicknames too. I think I'm the only one who calls her Emma. Kolton calls her Emmie which Josh is picking up on too. My dad calls her peanut and Robert has been calling her M Kate or just Kate. I thought I'd call her Emma Kate but so far Emma does it for me.

Emma Kate Watson
The newest addition to the Watson family arrived Friday, October 3 at 3:25 pm and weighed in at 6 lbs 8 oz and was 18 1/4" inches long. Emma is doing great!! Kolton is sooo excited! He brought me flowers on Saturday and bought Emma a pair of shoes. Josh on the other hand, has held her once and is more excited about the fact that Robert is home this week. Emma has a full head of hair. I'll post a picture of that as soon as we download more pictures.

Emma's a Comin.....
Emma Kate will be here on Friday. I'm scheduled for a 7 am induction which means she should arrive around lunchtime!! Poor Kolton, his birthday is Saturday. Good thing we had his party early!!
My blood pressure was up at my appointment today which Robert thinks I did on purpose but I swear I did not drink a coke or monster drink before the appointment!! I did tell my doctor I'm so over being pregnant and she had no problem with scheduling the induction. I just love her.

Twinkies and Chicken
Robert and I are cracking up over Cody on DWTS. Guess the ADD trait comes from the Martin side of the family since Cody and Robert share that common gene! (If you watched tonight then you get my post title.)
I love having all my shows back on this fall. Someone asked how I have time to watch all the shows I record. I work from home! Some people take a coffee break, some a smoke break, and some a DVR break. I can watch the show in half the time it takes to watch it "live". And of course there is always time to watch a show after the kids go to bed. (Hannah, that would apply to you ya know!)
Today Josh and I took it easy today. Last night the deacons wives hosted a dessert social for our interim pastor and I over did it. I was on my feet way too long and paid for it when I got home. I go back to the doctor Wednesday morning and I want an induction date! I'm so over this pregnancy thing. I'm not one of those women who loves to be pregnant. By the end of last night when people asked me how I was feeling my response was "pregnant"!! I'm 2 weeks away from popping...how do you think I feel?!!! I know everyone means well but I still get tired of answering the same old question! Kolton is even getting anxious and told me he's ready for Emma too. No one is more ready than I am.

Tag, I'm it
I've been tagged by 2 blogging friends, Helen and Jennifer, to list 6 random things about myself. Can I come up with 6?! I'll try.
1. Robert and I were set up on a blind date (sort of). For more on who's to blame click here http://daddysourhero-gina.blogspot.com/
2. I wrecked my dad's car when I was 16. Wrecked in like it rolled several times in a wheat field and no seat belt but I somehow walked away from it.
3. I have only 1 sibling and my dad is my "real" dad. Growing up and even at church people think he's my step-dad for some reason.
4. I've been to more rodeos than I care to admit and would prefer to never attend another one.
5. The time I spent at Kansas State University I majored in elementary education...what was I thinking?!!!
6. I lived on the island of Guam as a kid.
I'm suppose to tag 6 friends but can only tag these:
Cari
Cindy
Hannah
Melissa

No Beating and No Soccer
Last night Peter Piper Pizza wasn't a beating I'm happy to report. The place was pretty dead and much better than Chuck E Cheese. Cindy, you're off the hook. Josh and Justine had a great time and Josh now wants his birthday party there.
Kolton and I skipped Josh's soccer game today and Josh and I skipped Kolton's game...that's fair right?! Robert called before Josh's start time of 10:30 to say it was already hot at the fields so I decided to stay home. Robert must be feeling sorry for me....he and Josh brought me flowers after the game. Today I've been house cleaning. I'm not nesting...I have no energy to nest but the house looked like a tornado had been through so I decided not to be completely worthless today!
Next up...Josh and I are headed to the grocery store and then we have a birthday party at 4:00 for a friend of Robert's. The guy is turning 40 and his wife is having a surprise party for him. All Robert got when he turned 40 was a cake that said "older than dirt"! I actually did have a surprise party for Robert back when he turned 36 (I think that's how old he was turning....my prego brain can't remember).

TV and Soccer
Last night Kolton had a soccer game and it was so nice outside! Much better than last Saturday. In fact, if it's hot tomorrow I may skip his game. I'm ready for the weather to cool down or Emma to get here. I think she'll come before cool weather though which is fine with me.
After the game I came straight home and hit play on the DVR for Grey's. I was disappointed in the season premiere though. This morning I watched ER and it was GREAT. I cried like a baby but I love that show. To match Cindy's blog, here's what's set up on my DVR:
Grey's (of course)
ER (of course)
Dancing with the Starts (only because Cody is on there)
Desperate Housewives
Brothers & Sisters
My list is much shorter than Cindy's by the way.
Tonight Robert is taking Kolton to the Wylie football game and I'll be taking Josh to Peter Piper Pizza with Cindy and Justine. The place better not be a beating like Chuck E Cheese or else Cindy's going to owe me big time!!!!

Go Cody...and other stuff
Kolton had to go to bed tonight before it was announced that Cody was safe on Dancing with the Stars...and he was so mad at me!! There was no way he was staying up past 9:00 when 8:30 is his regular bedtime. Our house voted again tonight for Cody. Did you know you could vote up to 13 times from one phone number?!
This past weekend Kolton had soccer pictures and a game. It may not have seemed that hot on Saturday but try sitting at a soccer game! It was hot and Kolton was so tired after the game but the Bandits did great and won once again.
Saturday morning Josh missed his soccer game to attend the "Sibling Class" at Presby so he could learn how to be a big brother to Emma. Kolton attended the same class before Josh arrived but I was already on bed rest so I missed out on the class. Josh didn't want to change the diaper and when asked to hand the baby to dad he picked "Emma" up by her leg, then the other leg when Robert asked him to try it again, and then by her arm when he saw the legs weren't the right body part to grab!! We took a tour of L&D which made my blood pressure go up....3 weeks and counting...yikes! We also went up to the newborn nursery which Josh and I have been doing after each doctor's appt. Usually we see a baby or 2 but Saturday morning all the moms must have still been asleep because the nursery was FULL. So now he is a certified big brother....let the fun begin.
Remember at the end of one of my blogs I asked the question, Clay Aiken...gay or straight? Surprise! He's finally coming out...as if he had to.

Dancing with the Stars
Robert's distant cousin, Cody Linley, is on Dancing with the Stars this season(Robert's grandfather and Cody's great-grandfather were brothers). I took Kolton to meet him this past December and Kolton is so excited to watch him on the show. It is a little strange to see Cody on TV after hanging out with him at his parents home here in the Dallas area. So everyone who reads my blog needs to vote for Cody so he'll stay on the show!

Baby Shower
Yesterday I had a baby shower at work and got lots of clothes!! I only got pictures of the set up....everyone was eating while I opened presents so no pictures of gift opening!! The ladies went to way too much trouble for my shower! I appreciate all they do for me and can't wait for them all to meet Emma. The pictures really don't show the great decorating job my friend and co-worker Debbie did. She is amazing at decorating and really should be a party or wedding coordinator of some type!
1st Soccer Game
Kolton had his first soccer game Monday night and they won. I'm loving his weather too by the way! I only got to watch 1/2 the game. The Xbox 360 we bought Kolton didn't work so during the game he wanted me to go exchange it. What are the chances...we schedule his party early because Emma's due date is too close to his birthday, then we re-schedule his party due to the hurricane weather, then we pick out the XBox 360 that doesn't work!!

Kolton's Party
Today we had Kolton's birthday party. He'll turn 9 on October 4th but since that is close to Emma's due date of the 15th we decided to have his party early. We took kids to Main Event in Plano where they played laser tag, bowled, ate pizza and cake, then played arcade games. I'm tired now! And I actually have PICTURES!!! (Helen you must be so proud of me).
Kolton and Parker
Jenna "dancing" after knocking over a pin or 2.
Josh playing an arcade game
The cake
Presents!
Kolton, Grant, Mason, Parker
I guess we didn't get a group picture....o well!!!

Stuff...
Josh had his soccer game Thursday but no practice for Kolton Friday. Kolton's first game was suppose to be today at 4:00 but that obviously was rescheduled. We also moved Kolton's birthday party to tomorrow afternoon. I decided on Friday morning to go ahead and move it...better safe than sorry due to the bad weather we were suppose to have today. Robert's family is coming from East Texas for the party and tomorrow's driving should be much better than it would have been today.
This morning Josh had another soccer game but I didn't go. We then went out in the rain this afternoon to Jacob's 2nd birthday party and I actually took pictures but of course they are still on the camera just like Josh's first soccer game and the last birthday party we went to. Baby Jenna is sooo cute! She makes Robert and I ready for our baby girl!
This evening Robert and I went to the Toys R Us in Plano that is moving to Allen and took advantage of the moving sale. We got a few Christmas gifts for Josh, Kolton and even Emma. I thought I was getting Justine and niece Jenna gifts too but turns out I got Jenna's Christmas AND birthday. I didn't know Justine already had two "Dora Dance Adventure"!!! So now that goes to Jenna and the other gift I'll keep back for her birthday in January which is Dora related too. Good thing she likes Dora. In case you wonder why I don't give Justine what I got for Jenna...she already has that too!

Rain
Tonight both boys were to have soccer practice at the same time at 2 different places..but they both got cancelled!!! Whoo hoo..3 nights in a row of nothing to do!! Tomorrow night Josh has a game and Friday Kolton has practice...maybe those will get rained out too.
The AC is fixed but now my kitchen sink faucet is leaking...so yet another service call was placed to our home warranty company. I'm sure after 2 service calls in 1 week our rate will go up!
I'm all set for Kolton's party Saturday. All I have to do is show up w/the cake and Josh and I ordered that today from Albertson's.

Cool Once Again
AC is finally fixed. Robert worked from home today while the tech fixed the AC and he picked up the boys from school. I stayed at my office til 3 and then had to pick up all our junk from my parents house...we had the wii, playstation, legos, the dog....it took a few trips to the car to load it all up. I came home and crashed for a good hour...I think I could have slept all night!! It's good to be back in my own house!!! I know the boys and dog are glad to be home too!

Weekend Happenings
AC is still out. Of course the parts didn't come in early..hopefully the compressor will be on time today and we'll have a cool house tomorrow. The boys and I have been staying with my parents and I feel like I'm living out of my car. I make trips to the house to do a load of laundry and pick up clean clothes. Yesterday when I was here it was 86!! Robert's been hanging at my parents during the day and coming home at night...what a trooper...I guess!
Friday night Josh had a birthday party to go to at a bounce house place and there were a ton of kids. I think the girl turning 3 has more friends than I do!! I was tired for the parents just being there. I actually did take pictures but haven't been home long enough to download them yet.
Saturday morning Josh had his first soccer game...again I have pictures. If his age group kept score, his team lost but it was cute to watch them play their first game. We took the kids to the mall Saturday night to give my parents a few hours of quiet and Sunday was the usual church, football and the kids started AWANA.
I sure am hoping tonight is the last night to stay with mom and dad. Kolton and I have to leave their house by 7:05 to get him to school on time at 7:30 which means we wake up a bit earlier than we are used to. O well, at least we have a place to stay!!!

Flashing Lights
in the rearview mirror and this time it wasn't me! I was so happy to be going just a little above the speed limit on GB this morning and someone else got "paced" and pulled over.....someone now has to pay up $175.00 just like I did!!
AC update.....compressor is out and parts won't be in until Monday. I'm hoping the techs will be back out to do the install Tuesday but it may be Wednesday. I know the saying is "one day at a time" but in this case it will be "one night at a time". Robert stayed at home last night and it was 77ish this morning so we'll probably all stay at home tonight. Tomorrow and Monday Josh and I will be hanging out at my mom's house...thank goodness I invested in a laptop and can work for anywhere. I'll just take each night as it comes to decide where to sleep! I should've offered to house sit for Cindy and Waylan and babysit Hersey and Snickers...that may have been better than hanging out with the parents. At least I have options!!!
I am happy to report I am not cranky today. Although, when I went by my house today after picking Kolton up from school, Paul (Brown aka PB) was IN our house. He used to walk right on it like he still lived with us and Robert had to tell him to stop doing it because when you aren't expecting to hear someone walk into your house, it is a bit alarming!!! So he had stopped until today I guess. Looks like we will be changing the garage door code...obviously he remembers the code to get in. Apparently he was looking to use our fax machine....o wait, we don't have one and never have had one!! I think he was coming to ask for money which is the only time we hear from him. He must have chickened out when he saw how I was not happy with the fact he was in the house w/o asking first. Wonder how many other times he's made himself at home and not gotten busted?!!! I'm sure some of you may be wondering what's the big deal....his sister had to remind him he doesn't live at her house anymore either and to knock. With PB, you have to put up the boundaries...I'll just leave it at that!!!

Still Cranky
Well, today I am still cranky. Not as bad as yesterday but today the AC isn't working in the house. Lucky for me it is cloudy outside and the AC tech can come today. I hate our AC....maybe someday our home warranty company will just replace the thing!
Josh went to the doctor with me today and I had to reassure him that Emma wasn't coming today at the doctor's appointment. We didn't have time to go visit the newborn nursery but he didn't really mind too much since he left the doctor with 2 lollipops and gum. My weight is fine, BP fine, Emma's fine....no reason to induce yet and yes I did ask. Robert laughed when I told him but I was induced with Kolton and Josh so why not with Emma?!! So far though no reason to. She did say Emma's not very big but the boys were only 6 pounds so she probably won't be big either.
Tonight Josh has soccer practice and his first game on Saturday. Kolton had practice last night and his first game isn't until the 15th. His coach isn't too happy with the schedule. Their games start after everyone else and end before everyone else and we have 6 or 7 games on Monday nights. If I didn't work at home we'd have a problem with that but since I'm here on Mondays maybe it'll be ok.

Groundhog Day
Remember the movie Groundhog Day with Billy Murray? He wakes up and it's the same day over and over and over? Love that movie. I need to wake up tomorrow and be able to re-do today. Bad day for this house. It all started before 7 am this morning when Kolton cried over having cereal for breakfast instead of waffles. Seriously. He's almost 9. His bedtime got moved up to 8:00 from 8:30 over that. Robert had to make me feel bad for getting mad about Kolton crying. He said it could be worse, he could be crying b/c we have no food in the house for breakfast. Somehow though that didn't help the breakfast situation.
Dropped Josh off at his first day of pre-school which is at our church so he just thinks he's going to church again. Poor kid never knows what room he's going to or which teacher he'll have since he can't tell the difference between Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. I did take a couple pictures and will post those.
Got to work...people there got on my nerves. What's new. None of them have figured out yet that I'm not a morning person and yes when I arrive at 9:30 it is still morning to me. Almost forgot I had to leave work at 1:30 to go get Josh...looked at the clock at 1:20 and had to rush. Ate lunch in the car and as soon as I hit Richardson I started speeding since I have the "Officer Alcorn" card in my wallet to whip out, right Hannah? (Say right.)
Kolton's off to soccer practice now but of course he got in trouble and sent to his room earlier. That child belongs to my sister I'm sure of it. The only bonus part of his day...no homework tonight. Ah the benefits of having a brand new, right out of college 3rd grade teacher.
And did I mention I didn't sleep well last night because I'm now 34 weeks pregnant and precious Emma decided it would be fun to make me feel sick last night. Of course she did't make me feel bad during the day when I was doing nothing but laundry and watching a movie (The Breakup--horrible movie by the way). She had to wait until right before I went to bed.
See why I need to start the day all over?!

Weekend Update
Saturday I went to the consignment sale. In the spring I may go on Friday for the better selection but Saturday was 1/2 price day. I spent $38, got several pairs of pants for Josh, GAP sweatshirt for him and Kolton, 4 outfits for Emma, 7 blankets and 3 bassinet sheets....I think that's all. There were so many girl clothes there I was actually overwhelmed...that's the reason Emma only got 4 outfits!!
After the sale I went to Toys R Us to pick up a birthday present and got a TJ Bearytale on clearance....not sure if that will go to Josh or niece Jenna for Christmas but I had to get it. Last Christmas that bear went for $50 and I got it for $20. Next I was off to Party City to pick up invitations for Kolton's party, grabbed lunch, went home, took a nap, went to Costco with Robert, went home, and to the church by 7:00 for a surprise birthday party for the music minister. The party was good. Mark and Gina came with all of their kids and it was so good to see them. They actually didn't stay long because Gina had a meltdown. She thought she could come back to the church and see everyone and be fine but .... not so much. Guess it'll take her more time.
Today after church the kids went home with my parents. Robert and I came home, ate lunch, and guess what I did...NAP!! Big surprise. After dinner we got the crib from my mom's house and got it set up in Emma's room. Where's the picture....I know. Her room isn't done yet though...I still need more stuff for the walls but so far it does look cute.
Tomorrow Robert is playing golf in the morning and I don't plan on doing much of anything.

Bored
It's Friday night and I'm bored but don't feel like doing anything. Robert and I took the boys out to eat tonight and to blockbuster which was a beating of course. (Not eating, just the blockbuster part).
Josh is playing the Wii which he is addicted to, Robert's watching college football and Kolton went to Nanny's house. There are plenty of things I could be doing right now but am choosing to be bored instead.
I met Kolton's new teacher today to give her the diabetes 101 talk and she is so young. This is her first year of teaching which means she isn't strict yet which means Kolton will love her. He REALLY did not like the teacher he's had this week. Robert and I are both so glad he was picked to move. There is a new girl at his school this year who is also type 1 and moved into the new class too. I'm glad the 2are in the same room now...they can "take care" of each other.
We have no big plans for the weekend which is ok with me since soccer starts next Saturday. There is a huge children's consignment sale in Plano I'm going to tomorrow. Not sure what I really need but it's so big I have to go!!

Update
Kolton doesn't care for his teacher already and his blood sugars prove it! He's still running high so last night I increased his long-acting insulin which seemed to help a little today. It'll take a few days to know the full effect.
Yesterday I got a letter from the school that they are opening up a fourth 3rd grade class and Kolton was preselected to move! He can't wait!!! All I know is the new teacher is young, and seems nice per the school nurse. I hope he likes the new teacher better than the one he has had this week. He'll start in the new class on Tuesday.
Tonight we have meet the teacher for Josh at the church. His teacher this year doesn't go to our church so I'm anxious to meet her. She called last night and seems very nice. Josh's allergies are bothering him which means he's been waking up early in the morning which means he's CRANK by the end of the day because he does not take naps.
Robert got the boys soccer schedules and our Saturdays won't be too crazy after all. Half of Kolton's games are on Monday nights which works out fine for me since I work from home on Mondays. Josh has a few 8:30 am games on Saturdays.....ugh. The season is over for Kolton the end of October and Josh on November 1st...and don't forget Emma will be here right in the middle of it all!
I'm off to drop Kolton at soccer practice and take Josh to meet the teacher, back to soccer.....Just wait until we throw dance class and cheerleading into the mix.....

Back to School
Kolton survived his first day of 3rd grade!! I can't believe he's in 3rd grade. That's the grade I was in when my family moved from Wichita, KS to Kingman, KS where I stayed until I graduated from high school. I'm getting old.
I bought batteries for the camera but couldn't find them last night thanks to Josh. Kolton wouldn't have let me take the camera inside the school anyway so I'll take a picture of him at home in the morning...day 2 of 3rd grade!
Kolton was actually in bed last night at 8:30 which is very shocking for him. He must have been nervous or excited about school starting because his sugar has been high! Over 400 at 1:00 this morning high. His routine this school year will be so different for him. He'll be going to bed at 8:30 every night and up with the chickens every morning since school starts at 7:30...ugh is right!
On another note, in my previous blogs I've mentioned the Marine (David) who introduced Robert and I has been serving his 3rd tour in Iraq. Thought I'd share he is back in the US safely and his wife (Gina--that's her under my blogging friends) and daughter are in Chicago for the "welcome home reunion".

Mystery Solved
Yesterday while I was running errands Robert went up into the attic to get Emma's crib down and there was no crib! Of course I didn't believe him so I had to look for myself and guess what? No crib!! I didn't remember lending it to anyone and I knew I hadn't sold it in our garage sale but where was it?
Well, after talking to my sister, I found out the crib that was at my mom and dad's house went to Kansas when my nephew, Alex, was born. When Alex started coming down here to see grandma and grandpa he was still in a crib so the crib from my attic went to mom and dad's....mystery solved!!!

Baby Shower
I was given a baby shower at church last Saturday and it was great!! Thank you Cindy, Melissa, and Chris. Robert and I are blessed to part of such a wonderful church family who spolied Emma already with lots of presents!! We had the shower early because my sister was in town from Kansas and I wanted her there. My mother-in-law and sisters-in-law also made the trip from Gladewater. Ciindy knows how I feel about games so there was good food and lots of gifts for my baby girl!!!
